Sri Swarnakarshana Kala Bhairava Devalayam
Lord Kalabhairava is regarded as the divine gateway through which ancestral souls receive offerings and blessings return to the devotee’s family. Worshipping Kalabhairava on this day removes ancestral curses (Pitru Dosha), clears obstacles in family harmony, and brings protection, peace, and prosperity. Normally, Pitru Tarpanas (ancestral offerings) are performed in flowing water such as rivers or ponds, symbolizing the release of ancestral souls into higher realms. However, on Mahalaya Amavasya, a very rare and powerful form of Tarpana is performed in Fire (Agni). Offering Tarpana in fire on this sacred day is believed to directly reach the ancestors more swiftly and completely. Fire acts as a purifier and a divine messenger (Agni Deva), carrying the offerings to higher worlds. This unique ritual brings immense satisfaction to the departed souls and ensures their blessings flow abundantly to the family. To mark this sacred occasion, a special Kalabhairava Shanti Homam will be conducted on September 21st (Sunday, 2025) at the temple. Participating in this Homam helps devotees receive the blessings of their ancestors while removing obstacles, karmic burdens, and negative energies.
